- Springs that produce a load: P = 3N at a deflection amount: δ = approx. 3mm are selected.
Design Evaluation
Verification of main components
- The spring is verified to see whether the deflection satisfies the condition.
- Temporarily selected spring.
- Conditional value: Young's Modulus E = 186000N/mm², cross sectional moment of inertia I = 0.014mm⁴, distance between spring fixing part and load receiving part L = 19mm, load P = 3N.
- Calculation of deflection amount
δ = Pl3/(3EI) = 3(19)3/(3 x 186000 x 0.014) = 2.6 ≈3mm
Therefore, the condition (deflection amount ≈ 3mm/3N) is satisfied.
Other Design Consideration
- The outer dimensions of the tray can be changed to facilitate different workpiece sizes.
- The tray is restricted by utilizing a notch to eliminate orientation tray loading error.
