Purpose
- A proximity sensor is used to detect nonmagnetic cylindrical work pieces across a V-shaped staging table.
- A robot places a cylindrical object on the staging table, where it is detected. After confirmation of the piece, the process is continued by hand. If no confirmation signal is received the robot conveys the next work piece.

- Spring bending at workpiece existence: 22.75 mm (initial bending 4.8 mm + displacement 17.95 mm)

⇒ 20.58 N > 6.8 N Thus, the workpiece is not lifted up.
Other Design Consideration
- By using flat washers at the bottom of the spring, the spring force can be adjusted by the number of flat washers used.
- Urethane is used for the contactor to prevent scratches on workpieces.
