Pressure gauges that measure pressures lower than the surrounding pressure are called vacuum gauges. No single vacuum gauge can measure all the way from high vacuum levels through to atmospheric pressure; instead, composite vacuum gauges can measure the whole range by combining two kinds of vacuum gauges into one terminal.
