Note: Quoted from the 2013 Takiron comprehensive catalog.[Features]· Polycarbonate plates are made from materials with superior impact resistance, even among plastics.· Plastic with a transparency equal to glass that refutes the common belief that transparent materials are easy to break.· Possesses the highest level of impact-resistance strength while using transparent materials with approximately 20 times the strength of hard vinyl chloride and approximately 40 times the strength of acrylic.· Superior light permeability rate of 85% for 5 mm transparent plate, the same transparency as high grade plate glass.· Low thermal conductivity (1/5th of glass) and superior heat retention qualities. Useful for insulation.· Can be used in a wide range of temperatures, from -40°C to +120°C.· 1 mm thickness and resistant to high voltages of up to 30,000 volts. More than twice the insulating value as Bakelite. Optimal as electric insulation material.· Weather-resistant grade that prevents yellowing and is barely affected by direct sunlight, wind, rain, temperatures, etc., when compared to other plastic materials.
