- Question: What is different between 1phase transformers and 3phase transformers.
- Answer: 1. In a single-phase transformer, the electricity is supplied through two wires called Line and neutral. In three phase transformers, the electricity is supplied through three wires (four wires if neutral wire is included).
2. The voltage of single-phase transformer supply is 230V whereas three-phase transformer supply is 415V.
3. The efficiency of a three-phase transformer is significantly higher than a single-phase supply and the power transfer capability is also more. - Question: How many types of transformers?
- Answer: Type of transformer can be separated by different types of applications.

- Answer: Transformers is necessary because each electric device need different level of voltage. So, we must use transformer to adjust the electrical voltage from power source to sub-unit.
