Transformers（Insulation type：A type Page2）

A transformer is a device that changes the voltage, also called a power transformer. Performs the step-down and step-up of AC voltage, and makes adjustments necessary for use in electronic devices. The transformer has a structure in which a primary coil and a secondary coil are wound around an iron core. Depending on the position of the iron core and the coil, it is divided into an inner iron type where the coil covers the iron core and an outer iron type where the iron core is outside the coil. Wiring methods are classified into two types: single-phase, which is a 100 V power supply used in offices, and three-phase, which is a 200 V power supply that sends a large amount of power. The winding of the coil is usually compound wound in which the primary and secondary sides are insulated, but there are also smaller auto transformers. There are also types that can be connected with the cover attached, types that can be used overseas and in Japan, portable types that are suitable for on-site construction with different power and voltage, etc.

                  Question: What is different between 1phase transformers and 3phase transformers.
                  Answer: 1. In a single-phase transformer, the electricity is supplied through two wires called Line and neutral. In three phase transformers, the electricity is supplied through three wires (four wires if neutral wire is included).
                  2. The voltage of single-phase transformer supply is 230V whereas three-phase transformer supply is 415V.
                  3. The efficiency of a three-phase transformer is significantly higher than a single-phase supply and the power transfer capability is also more.
                  Question: How many types of transformers?
                  Answer: Type of transformer can be separated by different types of applications.
                  1. Transformer types based on core structure.
                     1.1) Iron core transformer
                     1.2) Shell core transformer
                     1.3) H-type core transformer
                  2. Transformer types based on electric system.
                     2.1) Single-phase transformer
                     2.2) Three-phase transformer
                  3. Transformer types based on voltage level.
                     3.1) Step-up transformer which is use for boost voltage up then transmit to secondary side.
                     3.2) Step-down transformer which is use for reducing voltage down then transmit to secondary side.
                     3.3) Isolation transformer which voltage at primary and secondary side are same. Typically, applicable for Laboratory which is need stable voltage and current.
                  Question: How is transformer maintenance method?
                  Answer: 1. Should install and using in low-humidity to prevent short circuit issue.
                  2. Installation place should be good for heat transfer.
                  3. Always keep cleaning heat transfer component.
                  4. Always keep inspection terminal and wire.
                  Question: Why transformer is necessary?
                  Answer: Transformers is necessary because each electric device need different level of voltage. So, we must use transformer to adjust the electrical voltage from power source to sub-unit. Such as, reduce voltage from high-power electric post to the building and transformer for reduce voltage level from electric source of building to each electrical home appliance as well.
