    · A substrate made of precision polished material with minimal shape change due to temperature change.
    · Usable for interferometer or Newton standards.
    · Inspection data regarding surface accuracy as measured by the interferometer is included with the optical flat.
    · The required optical flat can be selected from variations that have been subdivided according to size and surface accuracies.
    · For large optical surfaces with high surface accuracy, a material with lower thermal expansion than synthetic quartz is used.
    · The surface shown by the arrow on the side is polished with high surface accuracy.
    · The optical flat is delivered in a case for storage.

    · A wedge substrate (WSB/WSSQ/WSSQK) is also available, preventing any influence of reflection off the reverse face.
    · The Newton ring is the rainbow-colored stripe formed when the sample is brought into close contact with the optical flat, which can be used to infer the surface shape of the sample by using the shape and number of the stripes.
    · * When using as a Newton standard, the sample contacts the test plate glass and may be scratched.
    · * Use a laser interferometer, etc. for inspecting items that must not be scratched.
    · * The number of stripes on the Newton ring is approximately twice the PV value from analysis results with an interferometer.
    · * The optical flat is not coated in order to maintain surface accuracy.
    · * The optical flat surface accuracy may deteriorate if it is cracked or its edge chipped.
