Why is the order model of the timing belt inconsistent with the actual belt label and engraving?

Order model is MISUMI product model, the label on the belt or printed model on the belt surface is the belt manufacturer model, which varies with manufacturer, but there will be no influence on the product itself.

The timing belt has been broken after use for a very short period of time. Is there a problem with the quality of the belt?

The timing belt is a standard product, and the same batch of products have very few individual quality problems, please refer to Main causes of premature breakage and corresponding countermeasures to troubleshoot the equipment in use.

Can alteration be made to the timing belt?

Alteration cannot be made to the circumference of the timing belt, and partial alteration can be made to the width.

What kind of belt is better to use under conditions that require high cleanliness?

The use of urethane belts is recommended, which has significantly improved dust drop, compared to the rubber belt.

What are the two main types of timing belts according to their functions? What is the role?

Timing belts are mainly divided into transmission type and driving type. For transmission type, the load can be placed on the timing belt surface for transmission. For driving type, no load is carried, and only the role of transmitting torque is played, which is similar to the role of chain.

How to judge or measure whether the belt tension meets the installation requirements?

It is recommended that the customer purchase the tension meter by himself and make a judgment according to the calculation formula of the initial design.

Which tooth type of the timing belt has the smallest clearance? What will it affect?

The arc tooth type has minimum clearance, which can improve such indicators as positioning accuracy and rigidity.

Usage Method

■ Installation method for timing belt transmission
①	Turn off the power supply, remove the protective cover, loosen the motor assembly bolts, move the motor so that the belt is loose enough. The belt can be removed without prying. Never try to pry the belt down.
②	Remove the old belt and check for abnormal wear. Excessive wear may mean that there are problems in the design or maintenance of the transmission device.
③	Choose the right belt to replace.
④	To clean the belt and pulley, wipe with a cloth dipped in a small amount of non-volatile liquid. Soaking in detergent or scrubbing the belt with detergent is not advisable. To remove grease, it is also undesirable to wipe with sandpaper or scratch with a sharp object. The belt must be kept dry before installation and use.
⑤	Check the pulley for abnormal wear or cracks. If the wear is excessive, the pulley must be replaced.
⑥	Check whether the pulley is linearly symmetrical. Linear symmetry of the pulley is essential for the operation of the timing belt, especially the timing belt transmission device. Asymmetry of the pulley is shown as follows:

⑦	Check the remaining transmission device components, such as bearings and bushings, for symmetry, durability, lubrication and other conditions.
⑧	Install a new belt on the pulley. Never pry or use too much force.
⑨	Tighten to narrow the center distance of the transmission device until the tension tester detects that the belt tension is appropriate. Turn the driving wheel several times with your hands. Re-test tension.
⑩	Tighten the assembly bolts of the motor and correct the torque. Since any change in the center distance of the transmission device during operation will result in poor belt performance, it is important to ensure that all transmission components have been tightened.
⑪	Start the device and observe the belt performance to see if there is abnormal vibration, and listen carefully if there is abnormal noise. It is best to turn off the machine and check the conditions of the bearing and motor. If it feels too hot to the touch, the belt may be too tight, the bearing may be asymmetrical, or the lubrication may be incorrect.

Precautions

① Do not bend the belt by force.
It is strictly forbidden to bend the belt, which easily causes breakage

Do not use in direct contact with water, solvent, oil, acid, alkali, UV, ozone, etc.

③ Please avoid using or keeping at extreme high or low temperatures beyond the operating temperature range, or in humid environments.
④ During installation and maintenance, be sure to cut off the power supply and confirm that the machine is completely stopped before proceeding.
⑤ When there may be impurities, be sure to set the guard.
