Roller chains: CHE steel, CHEM lubrication-free and CHES stainless steel
Select the chain type first: CHE is steel, CHEM is lubrication-free steel with oil-impregnated bushings, and CHES is stainless steel. Then choose the nominal number, link configuration and pitch.
- Link-specified types start at 4 links and require an even number of links.
- Fixed-link configurations use the U designation; CHE80 is available as either a 200-link specified type or a U type.
- A joint link is included as the final link.
Related sprocket series are available for nominal numbers 35B, 40B, 50B and 60B.
Features and drawing

- *Shown with 4 links.
- Match the nominal numbers of the chain and sprocket.
Example: chain CHE40-236, sprocket RS40-1B9T, etc.
- *Items with the same nominal number can also be combined with other manufacturers' products.

- Circumference = pitch × number of links.
Example: CHE15 ⇒ 4.76 (pitch) × 100 (links) = 476 mm
- Number of links = circumference ÷ pitch.
Example: CHE15 ⇒ 480 (circumference) ÷ 4.76 (pitch) ≈ 100.8 links
- *For fractional counts, buy the shorter link count (100 links) and adjust the length with offset links.

- Select items with the same nominal number.
- Available from 1 piece for spares and repairs.
- The link count must be even; both ends are inner links.
- *Connecting a joint link (10) to the chain below makes it an even number.
- Use a chain cutter to adjust the length.
Cut at the odd positions shown above (an inner link remains).
- To change to an odd number of links, use offset links.
